Consultation on Draft Specification for LC Agricultural Science

NCCA

The NCCA have published the Draft Specification for the Leaving Certificate Agricultural Science new syllabus. In line with this, the NCCA has also begun a consultation process inviting anyone with an interest in Agricultural Science to provide feedback on the draft specifications.

IASTA would like to encourage all their members to read the draft specifications and complete the online consultation survey. This is your chance to shape the new curriculum – the learning outcomes and assessment.

Full details of the assessment of the practical coursework are not in the draft specifications and will likely be finalised soon. IASTA members views on the practical assessment component of Ag Science are sought and will be presented to the NCCA. Members are asked to fill out our own survey on this element of the course. We would like to thank those members who have already done so.

NOTE: Regional meetings of IASTA will be organised in the coming days to discuss the draft specifications with a view to bringing these shared options to the National Conference in March – details of which will follow shortly.
