Invitation to Teachers of Agricultural Science
These are exciting times for Agricultural Science as a subject on the Leaving Cert curriculum. The current 1969 syllabus is about to be replaced. The NCCA syllabus committee have held four meetings to date with Liam Coyle acting as the IASTA NCCA representative on the committee.
IASTA ( Irish Agricultural Science Teachers Association):
1: Assist colleagues, especially teachers who are new to the subject.
2: Write the Agricultural Science guide that appears in the IFJ every week
3: Provide useful contacts and resources for teachers
4: Organise the Leaving Certificate exam review meeting held every June.
5: Has extensive branch networks nationally.In order to be briefed on New Syllabus developments and other breaking news, I am inviting all teachers of Agricultural Science to sign up as members to IASTA ( fee €15 per year). Teachers can sign up online here.Good luck to all Agricultural Science teachers and their Leaving Certificate students in the practical exams in the next two weeks.
